Description
Earth's structure consists of four main, distinct layers: the thin, solid crust, the thick, semi-solid mantle, the liquid outer core, and the solid iron-nickel inner core. These layers are differentiated by chemical composition and mechanical properties, with density and temperature increasing toward the center, which is roughly 6,371 km deep.
