Description
In a lab setting, understanding the reflection properties of concave and convex lenses is crucial for demonstrating how they manipulate light. Concave lenses, also known as diverging lenses, cause light rays to spread out after refraction, resulting in virtual, upright, and diminished images. Convex lenses, or converging lenses, focus parallel light rays to a point (the focal point) on the opposite side of the lens, potentially forming real, inverted, and magnified images depending on the object's position.
