Description
A Hand Battery is a simple science experiment that demonstrates the principles of electrochemistry and how different metals can be used to create a basic electric circuit. In essence, the human body, along with two different metal plates (typically copper and another metal like steel or aluminum), acts as the electrolyte and electrodes of a simple battery. When a person touches the metal plates, the slight moisture and ions on their skin facilitate a chemical reaction that generates a small electrical current.
