Description
Mutual induction, a key concept in electromagnetism, describes the phenomenon where a changing electric current in one coil of wire induces a voltage (electromotive force or EMF) in a nearby coil. This interaction occurs because the fluctuating magnetic field generated by the first coil cuts across the windings of the second coil, inducing the EMF.
