Description
A Newton's cradle is a device that demonstrates the principles of conservation of momentum and energy using a series of swinging spheres. It typically consists of a row of identical metal balls suspended from a frame such that they are in contact with each other. When one ball is pulled back and released, it collides with the others, and a ball on the opposite side swings out, demonstrating the transfer of momentum and energy.
